senior positions at Castek.
Former AT&T Canada CEO and former president of
Claremont Technology Group take Chairman and President positions.
Toronto, Ontario, March 20, 2001 - Castek Software Factory
Inc. has appointed two respected executives to key positions,
an important step in the company’s aggressive growth plan, Castek
Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Yung Wu announced here
today.
James J. Meenan, former AT&T Canada Corp. Vice Chairman and
CEO, has been appointed to the position of Chairman of the Board,
and former AT&T Corp. and Claremont Technology Group senior
executive Stephen Carson has been appointed President and Chief
Operating Officer. Both appointments are effective immediately.
"To propel the company to the next level of growth and development,
Castek must not only preserve our vision, entrepreneurial spirit
and innovative products, we must add new skills and capabilities,"
said Wu. "The addition of two respected, experienced executives
to the Castek team will help us accelerate that growth, improve
our fundamental operational effectiveness, attract investors and
manage a significant new research and development program."
Wu will continue as CEO of Castek and lead development of corporate
strategy, market and customer development, product innovation
and R&D.
Meenan was appointed President and CEO of AT&T Canada Enterprises
in 1995. He played a pivotal role in the creation of the current
AT&T Canada from the original Unitel. He is the architect
of the $6 billion merger of four Canadian telecom companies MetroNet
Communications, AT&T Canada Long Distance Services, NetCom
Canada and ACC TelEnterprises to form the new AT&T Canada.
He retired from AT&T Canada in January.
"I see myself as something of an evangelist for Yung Wu
and Castek," explains Meenan. "I enjoy a young, entrepreneurial
business culture, and a dynamic, high growth company appeals to
me. I believe I can contribute a great deal to the corporate development
of Castek."
Carson has spent 30 years as a senior operational and financial
officer in both the telecommunications and professional services
industries. A veteran of AT&T Corp. in the U.S., where he
was CFO of AT&T’s world-wide consumer long distance and CFO
of AT&T Network Systems (now Lucent Technologies), he was
also President and COO of Claremont Technology Group (now Complete
Business Solutions Inc. -- CBSI).
"At this stage of my career, I’m able to pick my spots,"
says Carson. "Given the soundness of Castek’s positioning,
the strategic nature of their market approach and their consistent
growth, this is clearly the right spot. I’m very happy to be working
with Yung Wu and the entire Castek team."
